I was fortunate enough to see two brilliant artists today in Columbia Maryland. I have raved about Corinne Bailey Rae previously and she did not disappoint me live… I love, love her voice and she seemed quite shy on stage. She was support to John Legend; folks, I am in looooooove. This guy was just the coolest on stage. I have all his music on my ipod but the difference with him performing live is like chalk and cheese. AWESOME!!His duet with Corinne was to die for!!!!!! And some lucky gal got to slow dance with the man….. Oh my! I did not want the concert to end.
This month’s challenge on the GPP Street Team is to journal about words, phrases that have meaning within a family or between friends. Check it out!! I have been trying to collect words that I can remember all month long but couldn’t come up with much. I decided to use tags so I can add to my page whenever a word or phrase comes up which usually happens when you are not really thinking about it. I just love Michelle’s challenges. They really get me thinking.
This week’s theme is Framed!! I find it so true to life that some themes are just not up your own personal street; I tried to come up with something innovative, but just struggled all day long with it. I cropped it for the website; it is actually an envelope, so I have left room for an address. I am excited to see some of the innovative ways players use frames in their rubber stamping.
This piece is just poking fun at myself; life is so much busier and I don’t always find the time to play.
Edit post; Isn’t that stamp too much fun. I know there are a few people who have asked where it comes from. Cindy put me on to this really cool line of goth stamps by Stamp Oasis. Unfortunately their website is under reconstruction so you can’t seem them straight away. Keep checking back. The stamps are a hoot and sooooooo much fun. The quote is by Zettiology
Edit; I went back and looked at the stamp; it is by Stampotique; Jill Penny and Daniel Torrente collection. Guess I shoulda looked first!!! Sorry guys.
I have been into journaling for a while but only post ‘ nice ‘ pages. I am getting a bit more extreme with my journaling(LOL) after getting WIDE OPEN by Randi Feuerheim Watts which I love!!! Also at Lia’s insistence (check out her wonderful blog) I am getting less concerned about what it looks like, and just journaling. I find it a great pastime for waiting in cars which I seem to be doing more and more these days now the weather is improving and the kids are out doing one thing or another.
Kelly Kilmer posted her junk bag today which looks strangely a lot like mine so I thought it would be fun to post mine. I carry around journaling stuff in mine and it has turned out to be quite handy. My kids know what to look for when I say ‘can you get my junk bag’!!!LOL They think I am kookie for carrying it all over the place. I have twinkling h2o’s, watercolor crayons and pencils, a waterbrush, honey bee scissors and every type of Sakura gel pen known to man, so I had to choose my faves for my bag. They tend to be the souffle and embossing ones. I am also in love with the sharpie poster paint pens; these give a bright sharp line and can write over almost( not quite) everything. I also have some pastels in the oil pastels in the baggie which I love but they are tough to write over!! Thanks Kelly for the inspiration. Do you have a junk bag?
