Thanks are in order to my good pal Belinda who awarded me the Blogging Friends Forever Award. I really appreciate it since my blog has been severely neglected of late. Hopefully when summer rolls up its last sleeve and gives way to Fall things will get less crazy.
This fortnight’s theme for Wednesday Stamper is Two tone. I think of this as a challenge to limit your creation to using 2 colors or two shades of one color. To me the ultimate 2 tone creations are those in black and white. I love black and white photography and just wish i had more time to play around with some of the great features on photoshop. Somerset Studio has an upcoming issue on black and white which I am really looking forward to seeing how people get creative with. Are black and white colors?? Hmmmm not sure about the answer to that. Let me know what you think.
My second atc explores the use of 2 different shades of one color. Quite hard to do when you really put your mind to it. I wanted to use black so bad because I think it would have made the atc a lot more interesting but I stuck to my guns!! I guess I did cheat a little and snuck in that lovely shade of dark green which is some handmade paper I added at the end. It just looked too bare without it!LOL. Click on over and join in the challenge!!!!
To all my American friends out there. America really is the land of the free and home of the brave and I am proud to call it my home!
I made this for the current challenge on Wednesday Stamper. I wish I had put today’s date on it but the store already ran out of the Washington post for today. Celebrate!!
This week’s challenge is Sunshine! We have had beaucoup de Sunshine here on the East Coast and our mantra for the summer is to stay cool…. We didn’t have air conditioning in London yet summers can be just as hot over there which always makes for great discomfort. I hope you all stay cool too.
Here is my offering. Love that sun stamp.
This month’s challenge is to make a wax rubbing and use this as a resist. Well, I couldn’t resist (oh my, pun intended!!) and got out all my messy stuff to play with. I have played with this technique in the past and it has always been so much fun to see what pops off the page. The pattern I found was on a leather album I bought at Barnes and Noble. I used a white oil pastel and then sprayed the sheet with glimmer mist and color wash by adirondack. Here is a piece I was happy with and my challenge to myself today, is to incorporate it into a journal page, so watch out for that in a future post! Make sure you challenge yourself today!
I rarely have Monday off, so I am making the most of it. Trying to get my muse working and this was my creative exercise this morning. Another atc. I really want to try working bigger but always feel intimidated. What intimidates you in your artistic pursuits? Just curious.
This week’s theme is really cool! Twinchies; not inchies but slightly bigger. 2 by 2 inch square. I made some inchies but could never decide what to do with them. I made this little hanging for a lovely lady. This is a great size to use up all those scraps.
This week’s theme is Sisters. I have only one who lives far away and I do miss her. However thanks to technology we manage to stay in touch. I hope to see her in August.
This week’s theme is a flashback; eyelets!!! I have so many in so many different colors and shapes and they seem to have fallen out of the limelight. It was fun to go through my stash.
This week’s theme is to alter a playing card or use one in any way you choose. Check out the awesome examples here.
